Archival polyester Encapsulation Kit contains all materials needed to encapsulate letters, photos, documents, etc. This proven method of preservation was developed by the Library of Congress as a means to protect paper items from the perils of handling, yet makes the material available for viewing or study. A special encapsulation feature is the ability to view the item from both sides, making it a practical and popular technique.
This kit contains a generous supply of all the top quality materials needed, as well as a convenient step-by-step instructional brochure. Kit includes: Brayer, squeegee, art knife and replacement blades, cloths, round corner clippers, alignment grids, acid-free tape and 25 sheets of polyester film. These items are contained in a sturdy acid-free box which may be used for archival storage. Encapsulation materials may also be purchased separately.
