An economical machinemade paper of Thai kozo and lignin removed sulphite, it is a good choice for backing cloth, paper or for bulk repairs of books that are not meant to last forever. Lightly sized. Wt: 44 g. 25" x 37".
E. Sekishu Tsuru
This fine 100% Japanese kozo paper, cooked in soda ash, lives up to its prized name, although many papers called “Sekishu” do not. An excellent choice for almost any repair where strength and longevity are required, the slight creamy cast comes from the fact that it is made with a percentage of the “green bark” left in. Wt: 25 g. 25" x 37".
F. Sekishu Mare
As fine as it gets, this “mare” grade 100% Japanese kozo Sekishu has been completely ”picked“ clean by hand, the labour in Japanese papermaking that created a perfectly even surface. Use it when you want the very best for guarding hinging, or supporting. Wt: 25 g. 9-3/4" x 13-3/4".
G. Usu Kuchi Light

I. MM Tengu-jo Tissue
Machinemade in Kochi, Japan of 100% Japanese kozo, this thin classic repair tissue has been bleached to clean it of impediments, but its thinness means it will blend in nicely with the item being treated and not increase bulk when used for guarding . Wt: 12 g. 37" x 35".
J. Tosa Usushi
Handmade in Kochi, Japan of 100% kozo. A fine paper produced by hand by one of the younger papermakers in Japan, who is particularly talented at making very even sheets of high quality. Because he has only been at the vat for about 6 years, he cannot command the higher prices of the senior makers. Natural in colour, and fine and even in texture, this paper could become the next ”usumino“ which is so prized for its excellence. Wt: 15 g. 25" x 39".
Usu Kuchi Extra Heavy
Machine-made in Kochi, Japan with 100% Thai kozo, this heavier
weight paper is useful where thickness and strength are required without
perfect evenness of fibre. Wt: 65 g. 25” x 37”. |
