Art-Sorb®
Art-Sorb® is a moisture-sensitive silica material which absorbs and desorbs moisture in order to offset changes in external relative humidity (RH). By this process Art-Sorb® will maintain a sealed climate and specific RH… one which you choose.
- Available in beads, sheets and cassettes for simple incorporation into any container (All preconditioned at 50% RH).
- Precise humidity control ±-5%
- Over five times greater moisture buffering ability than other products.
- Pre-conditioned to your specified relative humidity (40–70% at intervals of 5% RH) at no additional cost, however, minimum quantities will apply.
Beads: Use approximately 1 lb. of beads per cubic yard (27 cubic feet). Place in shallow trays in display cases, around the perimeter of the case or in a drawer. Beads are packaged in 1 lb. plastic containers.
Sheets: The non-woven sheets of archival polyethylene/polypropylene fibres are impregnated with fine particles of Art-Sorb®. Cut sheets to desired size. Ideal for framing systems or lining display cases. Dimensions: 19.7”L x 19.7”W x 0.07”D. 10 per package.
Cassettes: Fibre cassettes are filled with Art-Sorb® beads encased in a convenient, non-woven polyethylene/polypropylene package. Use one full cassette per 26 cubic feet or one half cassettes per 13 cubic feet.
