Jin Shofu Wheat Paste

Jin Shofu Wheat Paste is a highly refined wheat starch adhesive, considered by many conservators to be the smoothest and best wheat starch adhesive available. Wheat starch paste is very strong, dries clear and forms a more flexible adhesive layer than rice starch. Jin Shofu is prepared by mixing with water and cooking. Consistency is easily adjusted with the addition of more water for a thinner paste and increased cooking time for a thicker paste. Jin Shofu Wheat Paste is a completely reversible adhesive. pH value 7.0. Some applications include hinging of artwork, bookbinding and repair, mending works of art on paper, mounting and framing.
