           Inserting Loose Signature or Sections

                                           Required Materials
                                           •  Mending Brush or Mending Sticks
                                           •  Plastic or Bone Folders
                                           •  Radiant Bond Glue



                                         1     A signature or section is a group of 4
                                               or more complete pages. A book is
                                               made up of a group of signatures or
                                               sections. A loose signature usually
                                               indicates serious trouble with the
                                               sewing and as a rule requires
                                               resewing or rebinding by a
                                               professional bindery.








                                         2     If the book is not to be resewn or
                                               rebound, temporary repairs can be
                                               made by edging each folded page
                                               with Radiant Bond using either a
                                               Brush or a Mending Stick
                                               (Plastic Bone Folder).










                                         3     Apply a strip of Radiant Bond to “V”
                                               opening of book. Replace signature in
                                               proper location and press down with
                                               a Plastic Folder.
