Paraloid B-72 Liquid Label™
Many museums are currently choosing Paraloid B-72 lacquer over cellulose nitrate lacquers (because of curling, flaking and instability problems) to catalogue and label objects in their collections. The new lacquer is 25% solution by weight of Paraloid B-72 in acetone and comes premixed in 1 oz. wide-mouth jars. The opaque lacquer has titanium dioxide added as the pigment. Please consult a conservator before applying to any objects. Please note: A top coat is not always necessary and may blur inks if applied before enough drying time has occurred.
